Raw material sourcing and management
Mitr Phol Group’s bio-power plants use raw materials that are derived from farming byproducts. The main raw material used is bagasse from sugar production. For every ton of cane pressed, 0.25 ton or 25% is bagasse. The bio-power plants also source other types of fuels including sugarcane leaves, husks, bark and rice straw. The sourcing of these raw materials not only generates additional income for local farmers, but also protects the ecosystem and the environment.
